The Lakewood Lancers celebrated Senior Day and another Moore League title yesterday afternoon at home with a 7-3 win over the Poly Jackrabbits.  Undefeated in league this season, Lakewood now has 12 of the last 14 Moore League crowns.

Junior pitcher Nicole Warren dazzled in her four innings of work and struck out seven of the 13 batters she faced without giving up a hit.  Meanwhile, the Lancer offense scored five quick runs in the first two innings with RBIs from senior Kylie Grabrowski, junior Shelby Blair and senior Eliza Crawford.  The second baseman Crawford’s home run in the second inning led to a huge day that included two hits, two RBI and two runs scored.

The Jackrabbits got their first hit in the sixth inning on a single from senior Natalie Dybens and built it into a three-run rally with RBI singles by senior Christen Priddie and sophomore Priscilla Pino.  However, Lakewood freshman pitcher Janelle Hayes shut Poly down in the final at bats to preserve the victory.

Lakewood will hope for a good draw in the CIF Playoffs that start next week, while Poly hopes they can draw a home game in the wild card contest.  CLICK HERE for the final standings
