After a long road trip to the Inland Empire the Poly Jackrabbits dropped a tough Wild Card Playoff game to Rancho Verde, 3-2.  Poly pitcher Ashley Betance-Kearn was effective all afternoon long, but two errors behind her in the fifth inning were too much for the Jackrabbit offense to overcome.

“We had our scoring opportunities,” said Poly head coach Ken Munger.  “We just couldn’t get that big hit… really, the hit we’ve been waiting for all year.”

Senior outfielder Courtney Priddie paced the Poly attack as she scored both runs.  In the third inning she had a bunt single, stole second, moved to third on a ground out and then scored on a suicide squeeze by Melissa Diaz.  Priddie had her second hit in the sixth inning, and took home on a errant throw.

Rancho Verde scored their two unearned runs after that, and the Jackrabbits had two runners on in the final at bat, but couldn’t tie it up.  Poly finishes the season 8-16 and 7-5 in the Moore League.
