Robert Patrick PhotoAs the T-1000 in Terminator 2, stunts, speed, morphing limbs and explosions left actor Robert Patrick unphased—a level of excitement unmatched, perhaps, unless one is racing the Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race. A race in which Patrick has participated, of course, multiple times.

Patrick is returning one last time, serving as the grand marshal for the 2016 Toyota Pro/Celebrity Race on April 16, officials announced today. It’s the last time Toyota will host the celebrity race at the event.

“We are delighted that Robert will be able to join us as Grand Marshal for this 40th anniversary celebration,” said Jim Michaelian, president and CEO of the Grand Prix Association of Long Beach. “He will be in a prime position to witness what should be the most exciting race in the history of this event.”

Currently known for his role as Agent Gabe Callow on CBS’ Scorpion, Patrick will start the race with the famous “Drivers…Start Your Engines,” accompanied by 11-year-old Cerritos singing prodigy Alexis “Shafira” Cunningham.

Patrick will be serving his ceremonial role for the largest field ever of celebrity racers: Stephen Baldwin, Frankie Muniz, Brian Austin Green and last year’s overall winner, Alfonso Ribeiro, among 21 other participants from film, television and sports for this year’s race.
