In this, the fourth installment of The562.org’s Classics video series, we look back at the dramatic 2009 Millikan football victory over Long Beach Poly.

No one expected it to be a good game. The Rams were resting players for a playoff run while the Jackrabbits were coming off a historic loss to Lakewood. This regular season Moore League matchup was well on its way to being another Poly blowout when the Rams and star Alden Darby rose up and scored 28 unanswered points.

Poly was able to force double overtime, only to see their game-winning, two-point conversion fall short. Millikan stormed the field in a jubilant celebration that left coach Kirk Diego speechless. It was only the third time the Rams had beaten the Jackrabbits since 1979.

You’ll also hear some great behind the scenes stories about Mike’s camera battery dying, JJ’s epic runs to the parking lot and Tyler’s adventures in the stands as a fan.

Also, DOUBLE THUUUUUMP!
