In this installment of The562.org’s Classics video series, we look back at the 2014 Millikan boys’ basketball team’s playoff win in front of a raucous home crowd.

The school had to close the doors an hour before tipoff because the gym was filled to capacity.

“These students, man, they’re unbelievable,” said Millikan head coach Chris Francis about the home crowd, especially the “Splash Zone” student section. “Their school spirit lifted us. This is really special.”

The game was more track meet than basketball contest, with two high-powered offenses facing off. Millikan eventually edged Rancho Cucamonga, 86-84, to advance to the CIF-SS Division 1AA semifinals for the first time since 1989.

In this video, we also play a little game of “You Make The Call,” with the game’s last possession. (Spoiler Alert: Rancho Cucamonga turned to the wrong page.)
