It’s playoff time! This week, Mike and JJ take a look at matchups for the opening round of the high school football playoffs. There’s also postseason action in water polo—that has seen historic postseason victories for Millikan and Poly—and girl’s tennis, which saw its own historic first.

Long Beach City’s football team is on the brink of achieving a big goal while Long Beach State men’s and women’s basketball teams are on the brink of a new season with lots of questions, including exactly what to call them—Sharks? Niners? Beach? Dirtbags?—with at least one regrettable choice.
