After suffering through a few very un-Dirtbag-like seasons, Long Beach State’s most recognizable program is back to its winning ways, having recently swept No. 17 Wake Forest. The Dirtbags, who will be playing a series against No. 6 Mississippi St., have begun the season 6-2. Mike and JJ say the team is winning in new ways, combining power with its usual ability to manufacture runs.

Another team making a run is Wilson’s girls’ basketball team, which is continuing an impressive playoff drive.

Mike and JJ also take a look at the spring sports season at St. Anthony and the Moore League, which includes some of the best athletes the city has to offer in sports such as baseball, softball and track and field. And they preview boys’ and girls’ lacrosse which will be competed in for the first time in the Moore League.

All that and Long Beach State’s men’s basketball team really needs to get it going.
