
Long Beach Wilson battled 4th ranked Orange Lutheran on the road Tuesday night, but fell in a four set classic, including a 41-39 third set barn-burner that took nearly an hour. The final tally was 23-25, 23-25, 41-39, 25-27, but according to Wilson head coach Susan Pescar, “there were too many lead changes to even count, it was that close.”
The Bruins were lead by captain Mike Wilder and senior setter, Louie Frost. Wilder racked up 27 kills, 1 block and 1 ace, while Frost added 7 kills, 1 block, and 28 assists. Junior setter, Cory Leckie, put up 25 assists, and Jake MacRae, a junior middle blocker, chipped in 7 kills and 2 blocks. Junior outside hitter Brandon Fuimaono, had 5 kills and 1 block.
