Long Beach Wilson competed in the Champions  Invitational at Terra Lago Golf Club, a two day event which took place on Friday and Saturday and finished third.  The event featured 29 teams from Northern and Southern California, Nevada, and Texas.

As a team the Wilson Bruins scored 298, 306, and 312 for a three round total of 916.  Servite High School finished first with a team total of 893, and Vista Murrieta finished second with a team total of 912.

Wilson senior, Boris Stantchev, brought home the individual tournament honors with rounds of 70, 74, and 71 for a three round total of 215 (1 under par).  Stantchev began Saturday’s final round one shot behind the 36 hole leader, Patrick Cantlay, a junior from Servite High School. Stantchev started his final round with three consecutive birdies and then held off Cantlay down the stretch to earn the one shot victory.  Cantlay posted a three round total of 216 (even par).

Senior O’Neill Cowan finished tied for 10th amidst the talented field of high school golfers after posting rounds 73, 77, and 79 for a three round total of 229.
