Time to recap another successful season in the Moore League.

The Wilson High Bruins ran away with the league title in the Spring 2011 season, notching a 14-1 record (16-2 overall) and placing three players on the All-Moore League Singles team in an impressive showing. The Bruins advanced to the quarterfinals of the CIF Division III Playoffs.

All-Moore League standouts Jenteel Alcafaras, Jadin Press and Ryan Murchison led Wilson. Alcafraras – a freshman already ranked as a 3-Star Recruit by TennisRecruiting.net and expected to lead Wilson to more success in 2012 and beyond – and Press were also named All-Moore League selections in Doubles competition. Press and Murchison will also return to chase another Moore League title in 2012.

Not far beyond were the Jackrabbits of Long Beach Poly, and their dual dynamic duos. The teams of both Edward Taylor with Sheldon Hseih and Braxton Greco with Ben Koch were named All-Moore League in Doubles. On their strength of their Doubles teams, Poly rolled to an 8-2 league record (13-3 overall) with their only league losses to the eventual champs.

Lakewood clocked in at third place with a 6-4 league record (7-6 overall) , and by contrast to Poly, placed three players on the All-Moore League team in Singles players Sidney Tan, Ricky Rideout and John Boylan. Rideout and Boylan made the Doubles list, as well.

Behind the strength of their All-Moore League selection in Brian Vieane, the Millikan Rams finished at 4-6 in league play (6-8 overall). Cabrillo finished 2-8 in league (4-10 overall) with Todd Jenkins earning All-Moore League honors and Jordan had a bit of trouble with a 0-10 league record (0-11) overall.
