Last week we told you that the playmaking Wilson receiver/running back/safety Ezell Ruffin had made a commitment to San Diego State; this week we’ve got some of Ruffin’s thoughts on what made him pick San Diego State.

After a long discussion with his family, and comparing majors, graduation rates, and coaching staffs, Ruffin said he wanted to be an Aztec because “the players felt like an extended family.”  He told us he’ll enjoy being close to home, and playing with his friend from Mayfair Junior High, Joshua Gavert.  The plans that Coach Borges and Hoke have for him, to contribute as a Wildcat playmaker and return man, were also a factor.  “I really enjoyed being in San Diego,” he said.  “The atmosphere was totally awesome—San Diego State was the first school that contacted me, and they believe in me.”
