1918113 177450533934 2544405 nBig Bad VooDoo Daddy will energize the Carpenter Center at Cal State Long Beach with loads of swingin’ good cheer to throw a Wild and Swingin’ Holiday Party on Saturday, December 5 at 8:00PM.

The high-energy nine-piece group will perform their big band swing music with a special holiday show, incorporating some of their best hits such as “Go Daddy-O” and “You & Me & the Bottle Makes 3 Tonight (Baby),” performed with a guitar, drums, upright bass and piano sound enhanced with wind instruments (trumpet, saxophone, clarinet and trombone).

After millions of albums sold, a grand slam Super Bowl performance and shows put on for three different U.S. Presidents, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is still going strong. Now their songs play alongside pop standards in film and television, and even on reality competitions like Dancing with the Stars, according to the release.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy made waves in 1993 with a legendary residency at The Derby nightclub in Los Angeles, reminding the world that it was cool to swing big band-style. Since then they have appeared on several talk shows, including The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien and Live with Regis & Kelly and played themselves in the hit movie Swingers.

The band is no stranger to recording and performing holiday tunes; their second album was the self-released EP Watchu’ Want for Christmas? featuring songs like “Rock-a-Billy Christmas” and “Zat You Santa Claus” and in 2004 released Everything You Want for Christmas, which included “We Three Kings” and “Jingle Bells.” In 2013, their third holiday album It Feels Like Christmas Time included the popular songs “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch” and “Santa Claus is Coming to Town.”

Single tickets for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy’s Wild & Swingin’ Holiday Party start at $50. For tickets and more information, click here or call the Carpenter Center Ticket Office at 562.985.7000. This series is made possible in part by Season Media Partner KPCC 89.3-FM.
