If you like music, you absolutely must go to Grace First Presbyterian Church tonight, January 19th. They’re presenting a concert featuring three truly jaw-dropping guitar virtuosos, and one singer/songwriter.

Vicki Genfan, who was chosen as Guitar Player Magazine’s Guitar Superstar of 2008, has developed a unique playing style that’s both musical and technical. With her affable personality, soulful singing voice, and monster chops she’s been wowing audiences the world over. She, on her own, would be worth the price of admission.

British bass guitarist Steve Lawson has shared the stage with some of the world’s best bassists and, through a fortuitous on-line connection, began collaborating with American singer/songwriter Lobelia.

Jim Bybee, a Long Beach export to the Pacific Northwest, creates a virtual orchestra with a single instrument.

All three are in town for the annual NAMM (National Association of Music Merchandisers) Show, which wrapped up yesterday at the Anaheim convention center.

The show starts at 7:30, and is FREE! Well, almost. You’re welcome to make a donation to support the on-going concert series which, by the way, will be featuring David Wilcox in April.

Lastly, check out some videos of Vicki on YouTube, especially a live performance of her self-penned composition, Joy.  There’s also a nice rendition of Soundgarden’s Black Hole Sun as performed by Steve Lawson and Lobelia.  See you there!
