9:40am | The Pacific Coast Sailing Foundation will host its annual Charity Golf Tournament on Thursday October 6, at “Big Rec” Golf Course in Long Beach.
This year’s tournament is held in memory of Mark L. Bixby, a lifelong Long Beach community supporter and well respected family man who was tragically killed in an airplane crash earlier this year at Long Beach Airport. The event is sponsored by the Auld Dubliner Pub, and will begin with practice at the driving range and a putting contest.
Just prior to the shotgun start, a helicopter will fly over to drop marked balls on the course, and the owners of closest ball to the hole will win a helicopter harbor cruise for two. Mulligans are available for purchase, there is a “beat the pro” hole, and numerous other challenges throughout the round to keep the tournament competitive and fun for all skill levels. The event will be followed by an evening of dinner, drinks and raffle prizes at the Auld Dubliner Pub on Pine Ave. in downtown Long Beach. All proceeds benefit the Pacific Coast Sailing Foundation.
The entry fee for the event is $175.00 per player, and includes 18 holes of golf, cart, range balls, course refreshments, raffle ticket, lunch and after golf celebration with food, spirits, awards and raffle opportunities at the Auld Dubliner in downtown Long Beach.
The tournament schedule is as follows:
