Bring on the Brews: Promenade Beer & Wine Fest to Host Over 60 Breweries, Wineries, and Restaurants

Screen Shot 2014-07-29 at 1.15.18 PMLaunched last year, the Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA)’s Promenade Beer and Wine Festival was a maze-like conglomeration of 20 craft breweries, Californian wineries, and some of Long Beach’s food staples by way of Michael’s Pizzeria and Beachwood BBQ.

This year’s festival will have more of everything—a lot more. Over 60 participants will be on hand October 11 to offer the best of the hoppy, the malty and the vinous, while The Sky Room joins last year’s participants to sate festivalgoers’ hunger.

Your ticket will provide you unlimited—yes, unlimited—tastings of the offerings from these breweries, which are a hint (not a full list) of the goodness to come:

While last year’s festivities marked what was a called a “coming-out party of sorts for the revitalized walkable stretch” of the Promenade, after it was officially completed, this year’s festival is set to, in the words of interTrend owner and President Julia Huang, “put a stake in the sand in calling Long Beach the hottest place to be in Southern California.”

interTrend, the sponsor of this year’s festival, sits across from the grounds of the gastro-party and their proclamation about Long Beach’s viability as a go-to hub for food and drinks is a call on Angelenos to come down and test the waters—after all, with the Blue Line is only a hundred or so feet away.

Pre-sale tickets for the Promenade Beer & Wine Festival, taking place on October 11 from 5PM to 10PM on the Promenade between Broadway and 3rd Street, are available now at for $30. The ticket price includes unlimited 3oz beer and wine tastings, 10 food samplers, and a souvenir tasting glass. Free bike valet will be offered. Pending availability, tickets will be sold at the gate for $40 each. Only adults over the age of 21 will be allowed to enter the event and no children, regardless of age, will be permitted.
