While Yelp is not the most statistically sound measure of gastronomical quality (Yelp sort, anyone?), the reviews site has compiled its first-ever list of the 100 top must-try places in the States and only one Long Beach location made the cut.

DistrictWine02Coming in at #62 is none other than District Wine, the East Village Art District’s popular wine bar. Impressive is that it sits on a list with culinary elites like San Francisco’s Gary Danko or New York’s Daniel while also joining Los Angeles-area staples like Porto’s Bakery (sitting at an impressive #4 spot) and El Chato Taco Truck.

So how was this ranking determined? According to Yelp, they used their own engineers to mine data using a technique called the Wilson Score interval. It takes into account a place’s star rating and its number of reviews to show what both has quality and is popular amongst drinkers and foodies.

The number one spot belongs to Da Poke Shack in Hawaii, the cheap-but-good fish joint on Kona that is famous for its ahi tuna poke.
