The Lending Club II, a French-built, 105-foot-long, ultra high-tech trimaran, is currently moored in Rainbow Harbor, right near Gladstone’s. Manned by a crew of 20, it will be departing for Honolulu from Pt. Fermin in San Pedro on Saturday at 1:00PM as one of the entrants in this year’s Transpac, which is one of the oldest ocean races in the world.
This state-of-the-art vessel can hit speeds of 50 miles per hour, sail using only its wing-like mast, and is capable of reaching Hawaii in three days.
