FEBRUARY 10 2:05PM  |  The contestants for this weekend’s King and Queen of Hearts Fundraising Contest have been announced and have been promoting themselves in the Long Beach Area for three weeks, according to a statement from the AIDS Food Store.

Carlos Cerna, Dane Olsen, Jared Amor and Sal Flores are competing for the title of king while Jannay Lima, Jacqueline Case and Sammilla Killz are competing for the title of queen.

Each contestant will answer a series of questions at the event to help judges determine the winners.

A $10 donation is requested at the door, and all money raised will go to support the AIDS Food Store in Long Beach.

The event, hosted by drag entertainer Jewels, will take place at Hamburger Mary’s, located at 330 Pine Avenue, at 4:00PM on February 14.

PREVIOUSLY  |  A new King and Queen of Hearts will be crowned in Long Beach this Saturday.

The charity event, King and Queen of Hearts Fundraising Contest, invites participants to introduce themselves to the community, then attendees will vote to crown a King and Queen. The winners will be announced on February 14.

“It is a honorary title bestowed upon the winners from the Imperial Court of Long Beach,” organizers said. “They are members of the community who have a big ‘heart’ for Long Beach and the many non-profits within the community.”

While one contestant is a drag queen, that is not a requirement to enter the contest. Contestants can be any member of the community who has a passion for Long Beach, organizers said.

Interested participants can email Empress Sabreena at [email protected] before Saturday’s event.

Several drag queens, including Miss Long Beach, Mia Farrow and Fabrique, are also scheduled to perform at the event.

A $10 donation is requested at the door, and all money raised will go to support the AIDS Food Store in Long Beach.

The event will take place at Hamburger Mary’s, located at 330 Pine Avenue, at 4:00PM on Saturday, January 24th.
