LBS Financial is looking to thank our troops. Starting July 20, the company began collaborating with the nonprofit A Million Thanks to write words of encouragement thanking the troops, all a part of a summer aimed at helping the community through acts of kindness.

ThanksOurTroop.2Heather Summers, a spokesperson for LBS Financial, said thanking the troops was important to LBS Financial because their service impacts everyone.

“It doesn’t matter which community you live in, our freedom-fighters impact us all,” Summers said. “We wanted to make sure our military received some kind of recognition during our Summer Acts of Kindness.”

The company has set up stations at each of their branches, where members can write notes to the troops for A Million Thanks to collect. On August 11, the notes will be sent for distribution among troop members. All individuals are welcome to swing by an LBS Financial branch to send their thoughts to U.S. troops.

This summer, LBS Financial has used their Acts of Kindness campaign to provide free vaccinations and microchipping for pets at the Pet Clinic at Scherer Park, feed the homeless at the Long Beach Rescue Mission, and donate reusable bags to the Food for Kids organization.

Other Long Beach Acts of Kindness actions for the summer include:

August 1: Park Cleanup at El Dorado Park, Long Beach.
August 28: Donation to the Women Shelter of Long Beach through an Employee Donation Box.
September 10: Sock donation to Long Beach Rescue Mission. LBS Financial is donating 480 pairs of new socks in various sizes for men and women.
September 14: Adopt a School Week—where LBS Financial donates supplies to three local schools in Long Beach, Bellflower and Cerritos.
September 19: Coastal Cleanup with El Dorado Nature Center.
