Like the headline says, starting at 9 a.m., Friday, you can go online and make a reservation to see “Toy Story 4” on Aug. 21. The movie will be playing at the temporary drive-in movie lot set up next to the Long Beach Convention Center/Arena.

Now, here’s the thing, if you want to see that movie, and it’s a good movie—97% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and c’mon, it’s Toy Story—you better plan on making those reservations tomorrow and probably sometime in the morning. This free drive-in series dubbed Twilight Cinema has been exceptionally popular so far. For instance, “Dora and the Lost City of Gold” is already fully booked and that movie doesn’t show at the Granada parking lot in Belmont Shore until Tuesday, April 18.

“Toy Story 4” figures to be at least as popular because, again, Toy Story. We’re not going to give away the plot because that’s such a twerp move, but suffice it to say it’s funny and heartwarming and strangely terrifying in that way that old toys and ventriloquist dummies can be. And, as with all Toy Story movies, it touches on themes of family and existential crisis because, if you haven’t noticed while humming the inevitably hummable Randy Newman tune, Toy Story is always asking what is the point of existence.

(Dubious fun fact, the original title of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” was “You’ve Got a Friend in Me, But Why?” Actually, that’s not true. Still.)

Here’s Twilight Cinema’s remaining schedule:

  • Friday, Aug. 21 – “Toy Story 4” at the Convention Center
  • Tuesday, Aug. 25 – “Sonic the Hedgehog” at Granada Beach
  • Friday, Aug. 28 – “Frozen II” at the Convention Center
  • Sunday, Sept. 6 – “Onward” at the Convention Center

Movies begin at dusk, around 8:30 p.m. Parking lots open at 6:30 p.m. and spots are given out on a first-come, first-served basis.

For Convention Center movies, enter at Linden Avenue and Shoreline Drive. For movies shown at Granada Beach, enter at Ocean Boulevard and Bennett Avenue.
