Adults can become kids for a day through music when the Downtown Long Beach Associates presents a “Big Kid, Little Kid” theme at its next Live After 5 event.

The event, which takes place April 9 at Lincoln Park, will be headlined by Jelly of the Month Club, a kid-friendly supergroup made up of well-known Long Beach musicians from bands like Sublime and the Ziggens.

“The group consists of many seminal Long Beach rockers that got together to make a kids album that stayed true to their own musical aesthetics,” said Live After 5 music curator Joshua Fischel. “I thought it might be fun to flip the concept and have a bunch of teenage bands playing a rock set and Lincoln Park seemed like a natural choice for the venue. It’s a place that we all want to see lit up on a more consistent basis and provides two spaces for two separate stages. It should be a completely fun night.”

Jelly of the Month Club will play from 7:30PM to 9:00PM in Lincoln Park.

The show will also feature pop-punk outfit Better Heroes, lo-fi shoegazers Fashion Party and alt-rock punk-rockers Vox Amoris at the Civic Center Amphitheater from 5:00PM to 8:30PM.

“People are truly grasping the music renaissance happening in DTLB—and we’re proud to be key players in that resurgence,” said Kraig Kojian, DLBA’s President and CEO, in a statement. “Long Beach has long been a fertile ground for music and supporting bands such as these will only foster that tradition.”
