North Long Beach’s Greener Good farmers market has experienced continued success since it moved from Wednesday to Friday afternoons in December

And as part of its official grand re-opening this Friday, April 4, the market will be hosting its inaugural Spring Fest, which will bring a day of food, fun and live entertainment to the empty lot on the corner of Artesia Blvd. and Atlantic Ave. New farmers and vendors will be introduced, an art workshop for kids will be led by Viktoriya Hristova, and a free healthy eating class will be taught by Dr. Peggy’e Martin starting at 4PM.

“This event will connect, educate and motivate the local community in a way that has not been done in North Long Beach or at any other farmers market in Long Beach period,” said organizer and Senior Market Manager Stephen Metz.

Performances include local artists like Stary Apple, Gospel recording artist Kesha Ealy and jazz artist Dave Williams and the MBT band as well as students from Jordan High School and Hamilton Middle School.

In addition to the Greener Good, the 9th District is getting a second farmers market starting this weekend, the new Ramona Park farmers market on Saturday mornings.

The Greener Good’s grand re-opening of its North Long Beach farmers market will take place from 1PM to 8PM on the corner of Atlantic and Artesia. The Ramona Park farmers market starts Saturday, April 5, at 9AM at Ramona Park, 3301 E. 65th St.
