11:45am | A large crowd turned out to join elected officials as downtown Long Beach turned (RED) for AIDS Day last night.
The color red and the (RED) phrase symbolize joining in the effort to research and fight the AIDS virus that plagues people all over the world. Thousands of LED lights cast Long Beach in a red glow while Mayor Bob Foster and other speakers addressed a crowd in front of the Performing Arts Theater.
