The Downtown Long Beach Associates (DLBA) announced Tuesday that the first of its three-part annual Taste of Downtown series will take place in the East Village Arts District on March 18 and March 19.

Participating eateries and businesses will include Auld Dubliner, Beachwood BBQ and Brewing, Bo-Beau Kitchen, Breakfast Bar, Buono’s Authentic Pizzeria, Gladstone’s Long Beach, James Republic, Kabob Curry, the Sky Room, Pussy & Pooch, Utopia and Village Grind.

Big Bad Rooster of Long Beach will play live music at the event.

“While the event is a local favorite, the amount of guests from outside of Downtown coming in just grows each year,” said Kraig Kojian, President and CEO of the DLBA. “This points toward two things. For one, people have an interest in the Downtown as place to dine and be entertained; it’s becoming a culinary hub. Secondly—and more impressively—is that the restaurateurs investing in DTLB are not only seeing a regional response to that investment but an influx of new neighbors. This means an increase in foot traffic on top of an increase in presence.”

Discount ticket packages will be available online beginning March 2, and tickets purchased online can be picked up at the will call/ticket booth at any of the three Taste of Downtown events. Individual tickets will be sold at the event for $1 each.
