One person was shot and injured in Long Beach near Forest Lawn Cemetery, police said Sunday morning, while two other people were shot outside the city late Saturday or Sunday morning.

The details were not yet clear, but authorities initially reported that three people were shot in Long Beach at about 10:45 p.m., one of them killed, at Luray Street and Rose Avenue.

Police later determined that one person was shot at that location and self transported to a hospital. At some point police learned that two others had been shot in Carson, and had self-transported to a hospital in Long Beach.

It was initially believed the shootings were connected, but the Carson shooting has been turned over to the Los Angeles County Sheriffs Department, an LBPD police spokesman said Sunday.

Sheriffs officials, meanwhile, said they don’t have a record of a shooting in Carson, but are investigating three people shot were shot in Gardena overnight.
