Two men were sent to the hospital after being wounded in a shooting in the Washington neighborhood in Long Beach early Sunday morning, according to Long Beach police.

Officers arrived at Pacific Coast Highway and Chestnut Avenue at around 2:11 a.m., and discovered a man with a gunshot wound to the lower body, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by paramedics. A second man transported himself to a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said.

Both victims sustained non-life-threatening wounds and are in stable condition, police said.

Police believe that “a possible altercation” escalated into a shooting. Authorities don’t have a motive nor suspect information.
