Two motorcyclists were injured, and one is in critical condition, following a crash in the Rose Park neighborhood Monday afternoon.

The crash between a vehicle and a motorcycle was reported at 10th Street and Redondo Avenue at 2:33 p.m., and fire crews arrived five minutes later, according to Long Beach Fire Department spokesperson Jake Heflin. Upon arrival, the two people on the motorcycle, a man and woman, were unconscious, and the woman was in critical condition, Heflin said. 

Both motorcyclists were transported to a local hospital. 

The driver of the vehicle remained on the scene and is cooperating with the investigation, according to Long Beach Police Department spokesperson Brandon Fahey.

Road closures are in effect on Redondo Avenue from 8th Street to 11th Street, and on 10th Street from Newport Avenue to Coronado Avenue as officers conduct their investigation.
