Long Beach police officers rushed to four different reports of shootings and stabbings Saturday night and Sunday morning, resulting in four people wounded and one person arrested.

Shootings

Police arrested a young man suspected of shooting a teenage boy Sunday morning on Seventh Street between Euclid and Grand avenues near Belmont Heights at around 1:21 a.m.

Police said “an altercation” between the man and the teen escalated into the suspect shooting the victim. The 16-year-old victim arrived at a local hospital with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to his lower body, according to police.

Saeed Langdon, a 20-year-old Carson resident, was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assault with a firearm on a person, police said. Langdon is being held on $1 million bail, police said.

Gang detectives responded to the scene, and police have not yet identified the motive.

A little over an hour later, at around 2:43 a.m., officers found a 24-year-old victim with a gunshot wound to the upper body at the beach area near First Place and Ocean Boulevard near Downtown.

The victim was transported to a local hospital by the Long Beach Fire Department in critical condition but has now been stabilized, according to police.

Police said a group of subjects was on the beach when an unknown suspect approached the group. “After a brief verbal exchange between the suspect and the group, the suspect shot the victim,” police said. “The suspect then fled the area on foot.”

Gang detectives responded to the scene, and police do not know the motive nor additional suspect information.

Stabbings

On Saturday night at nearly 6:30 p.m., a man was sent to a hospital after being stabbed near the area of South Street and Paramount Boulevard in North Long Beach, said police.

Police say the victim was approached by two men and after an argument, one of the men stabbed the victim in the upper body. Both suspects fled the area on foot, police said. Police are still investigating the motive and additional suspect information is not available.

The next morning on Sunday after 5 a.m., a woman was stabbed by a man she was dating during an argument on Cedar Avenue near 14th Street in the Washington neighborhood, according to police.

The suspect fled the area before officers arrived, police said. The woman was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening stab wounds to the lower body.
