Full closures of a stretch of the southbound 710 Freeway were set to begin Friday in the East Los Angeles, Commerce and Vernon areas to accommodate a pavement rehabilitation and bridge-widening project.

Beginning at 11 p.m. Friday and lasting through 5 a.m. Saturday, all southbound lanes of the freeway will be closed from Bandini Boulevard to Slauson Avenue, according to Caltrans.

In addition, the connector from the southbound 5 Freeway to the southbound 710 Freeway will also be closed, as will the southbound Washington Boulevard on-ramp and the Bandini Boulevard/AtlanticBoulevard on-ramp.

Between 5 a.m. Saturday and 11 p.m. Sunday, two lanes of the southbound 710 Freeway will be closed between Bandini Boulevard and Slauson Avenue. The southbound Washington Boulevard on-ramp and the Bandini Boulevard/Atlantic Boulevard on-ramp will also be closed during those hours.
