Sixth District Councilman Dee Andrews and Mr. Baker’s Style Center will team up to host a Back To School Free Haircuts For Youth event, for kids K through 8th grade, from 9:00AM to 2:00PM, on Sunday, August 30, at Mr. Baker’s Style Center.

According to the release, this will be the seventh year that Councilman Dee Andrews has teamed up with Mr. Baker’s Style Center to offer free back-to-school haircuts. The style center is donating no-cost haircuts for youth ages five to 13.

“Each year parents are hit with many back to school expenses such as school supplies, clothing, and activity fees,” said Councilman Dee Andrews in a statement. “This is an excellent opportunity for families to save money while preparing their children to return to school.”

Mike Baker, owner of Baker’s Style Center understands that students want to start the new school year looking their best “and we want to do our part to encourage our youth with added confidence.”

“We are not giving back to the parents in our community, but helping area youth go back to school feeling more confident with a new haircut,” he said in a statement.
