Celebrate the end of summer vacation in Long Beach this weekend with the following events set to take place these next few days.
Located at the Long Beach Market Place, Woofstock Summer Bash will feature live musical performances by Sam Greencart and Miles Cristopher, food provided by Veggie Grill and My Fit Foods, a doggie photo booth, pet-friendly giveaways and a best dog trick competition. The event will take place Saturday, August 29 from 1:00PM to 4:00PM.
If hanging out with your pets doesn’t sound like fun, consider checking out the Long Beach BBQ Festival, featuring music, dancing and all-you-can-eat food and drinks. The festival begins Friday, August 28, at 5:00PM and continues through Sunday, August 30, at 8:00PM.
Due to increased attendance and awareness, Vitality and Verve: Transforming the Urban Landscape, the Long Beach Museum of Art’s (LBMA) arguably most ambitious exhibition to date, will remain open to the public past its original September closing date until Sunday, October 25.
The free Third Annual Fruit and Veggie Party on Saturday, August 29, from 10:00AM to 1:00PM at Martin Luther King Jr. Park. The festivities are sponsored by the Long Beach Department of Health and Human Services Healthy Active Long Beach Project, and will bring together partners from multiple city departments as well as many other community programs.
The second annual MOLAA and Yambu Productions will continue its summer music series in MOLAA’s Sculpture Garden with musical acts Cubana be, Cubana Bop, The Return of Bebop: The Music of Dizzy Gillespie and Chano Pozo. The event will take place at the Sculpture Garden at The Museum of Latin American Art, 628 Alamitos Avenue.
