After nine decades headquartered in Wilmington, Nautilus International Holding Corp.—the parent company of Metro Ports, Metro Cruise Services, Metro Shore Services and Metro Risk Management—will be moving its base of operations to Long Beach.
Set to be situated in a new 40,000 sq. ft. building that will break ground in Douglas Park come late September, the new Nautilus headquarters will fill the northeast corner of Worsham Avenue and Cover Street.
“Having recently finalized negotiations for a 20-year operating agreement with the Port of Long Beach, moving to the City of Long Beach is a concrete demonstration of our nine-decade relationship with both the city and port,” Michael Giove, COO of Nautilus, said in a statement. “We will be in closer proximity to our valued Long Beach operations and within 1.5 miles of the current port offices as well.”
Nautilus is a holding company that concentrates on trade, including stevedoring (the loading and unloading of ships), terminal operations, agency, logistics and risk management.
The building, developed by Long Beach-based Urbana Development, is expected to be completed by December of 2015.
