9:19am | Tammy Newland, owner of Keller Williams Realty in Los Alamitos, and a well-known face in the Long Beach real estate scene, was recently installed as the State Secretary for the California Women’s Council of Realtors.

In an unrelated appointment, Newland has been named to a position as the National Association of Realtors Women’s Council Chair for Broker/Owners. The installation as WCR State Secretary was held in San Diego on Jan. 25 as part of the California Association of Realtors Directors meetings.

“I am honored to be elected to this position by my peers,” Newland said in a statement. “I try to be a positive influence on my fellow business women and my community and look forward to working with the various officers and chapters in the state.”

Newland is a member of the WCR Long Beach. The WCR Long Beach Chapter is the largest in California and is one of the largest chapters in the country, according to the group. The WCR is an organization designed to help its members in elevating their profession with education, industry knowledge, and networking opportunities.

As a State officer, Newland will mentor and offer support to those chapters and will be featured at the district business forums throughout California. Newland has served as the president for the Long Beach chapter, state district vice president and state governor, where she helped launch the new South Bay WCR chapter. Newland will be running for president elect in June. Newland is a California Association of Realtors director and sits on the Pacific West Association of Realtors budget/finance committee.

Newland has been an active Realtor for 22 years and is the Operating Principal of two Keller Williams Realty offices in Los Alamitos and South Bay.
