It’s the fourth week of the semester for Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) students but that doesn’t mean finding a parking spot on campus has become any easier. An overflow parking section will be available at the Greek Orthodox Church this week to try and alleviate the situation.

This site will be replacing the overflow lot that was available near the Walter Pyramid.

According to a statement by CSULB Parking and Transportation Services, this is a pilot program funded by the university and will be monitored and possibly extended if successful.

“If you come around the morning or lunchtime, it’s a real struggle to find parking,” healthcare administration student Hung Trinh told the Post. “You’ll be going around 30 minutes to an hour to find parking.”

There will be free shuttle service available from 7:00AM to 7:00PM. Shuttles arrive every 20 minutes at the start of the hour with the last shuttle leaving the overflow lot at 6:45PM. The shuttles stop at the South Campus Turnaround and at the McIntosh Humanities Building

The Greek Orthodox Church is located at 5761 East Colorado Street.
