Two people sustained minor injuries after a sedan struck a vehicle pulling out of a driveway and flipped over in Alamitos Beach Monday morning.

The incident happened at about 10:30AM on 2nd Street at Hermosa Avenue, said Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) Mark Miller.

The silver sedan was traveling westbound on 2nd Street when it struck a black car pulling out of a driveway on the one-way street going forward, according Sylwia Pawlak who witnessed the crash.

The driver of the silver vehicle seemed to be driving fast and may not have not noticed the car pulling out, she said.

Pawlak said she rushed to the female driver of the flipped car and urged her to stay inside to avoid getting cut by broken glass.

The driver, who appeared to be in her 20s, and her passenger, a man who looked to be in his 40s or 50s, sustained only minor injuries and refused medical transportation, Miller said.

The man in the black car did not sustain injuries, he added.

This story was updated at 4:33PM clarifying the black car was leaving a residential driveway, going forward, not pulling out of the driveway as previously stated.
