Car hits power pole near Heartwell Park, causes power outage

A driver crashed into a power pole near Heartwell Park Friday evening, causing a power outage and street closure in the area for a few hours.

The crash took place near Carson Street when a woman drove into the power pole, according to LBPD spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

The driver suffered minor injuries and remained at the scene, police said. The cause of the collision is still under investigation, Chavarria said.

The collision caused a local power outage, according to police, and all eastbound traffic lanes on Carson between Woodruff Avenue and Palo Verde Avenue were closed for a few hours.

All power was eventually restored, police said.
