Neighborhoods First, an organization of community leaders and local Activists, has scheduled meetings with Long Beach city council members and Mayor Bob Foster to discuss better ways of resolving neighborhood concerns.

The meetings will take place September 25 through October 12 and will be the first set of ongoing discussions with the City Council and Mayor.

“Police and Fire response, infrastructure needs, traffic congestion and density are just some of the things we will be talking about to our council members,” said Mike Kowal, Neighborhoods First chair.

The Neighborhoods First mission – according to its website – is to protect the quality of life in Long Beach by increasing public awareness of the pro-neighborhood performance of all elected officials, working to elect responsible candidates, and holding them accountable to the pro-neighborhood agenda once elected.

Neighborhoods First members will also be discussing with council members parameters for its Community Scorecard, and how they and the Mayor will be rated on that scorecard.
