3:45pm | The controversy is not over yet surrounding the Sacramento house of Congresswoman Laura Richardson (D-Long Beach), as the Capitol Weekly reports today that it has been listed for $399,000 short sale on this GoLyon.com web page. The incumbent is facing challengers Republican Star Parker and Independent Nick Dibs at the polls in a few weeks for the 37th Congressional District seat.

In 2008 the home was foreclosed on and sold at auction, while Richardson maintained that the issue was a misunderstanding and the selling bank oddly handed the property back to her. Neighbors complained that the house was blight because of an unmaintained lawn. Reporters dug up records showing that Richardson had defaulted on loans at least eight times for three different homes across California.

The home slipped into default late last year, due to a “clerical error” according to a Richardson spokesperson.
