Councilwoman Suzie Price will be hosting a bicycle safety program for children aged nine to 17 in collaboration with the Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) lifeguards and the Long Beach Police Department next week, her office announced today.

The two-day program will provide free bike safety training for participants and Junior Guards, with the LBPD educating the young citizens on bike enforcement rules and proper bike security to avoid theft on Tuesday, June 30 and Wednesday, July 1.

Participants can also take part in bike identification etching that will offer further safeguards in the face of potential theft, according to a release issued this morning. 

Each day has two timeslots available to participants: 9:15AM to 10:00AM or 1:15PM to 2:00PM.

Both events will take place at the 54th and Ocean parking lot, as part of a two-day program, no reservations necessary.
