A car ended up stuck between two big-rigs on the 710 Freeway late Wednesday night, sending at least one person to the hospital, according to a fire official.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. on the southbound 710 near Wardlow Road, Long Beach Fire Department spokesman Jake Heflin said.

Shortly after the crash, a police helicopter flew over and confirmed there was a vehicle with two people trapped inside stuck between the two trucks, Heflin said.

Rescue crews headed to the freeway and were able to free both people from the car, he said.

One of them was taken to a local hospital, but it wasn’t clear if the other person was hurt, according to Heflin.

Any details of their injuries weren’t available. The CHP wasn’t immediately able to provide any more details about the crash.
