A 55-year-old man was shot to death and two other people were wounded during a shooting in North Long Beach, authorities said today.

The victim was identified as Tyrant Otee Walker of Compton, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Officers dispatched at about 9:15 p.m. Saturday to the 6800 block of Coachella Avenue regarding a shooting and located three men who had been shot.

Paramedics rushed them to a hospital, where one died from his injuries. The second victim was listed in critical condition and the third was treated and released, police said.

Investigators believe the shooting was gang-related but the exact motive for and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, police said. The LBPD defines “gang-related” as any crime committed “for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal street gang.”
