A young Long Beach man died early Sunday morning in South Wrigley after being shot, the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) announced Sunday morning. 

According to the LBPD, officers were dispatched at 2:44AM Sunday to a shots heard call in the area near 19th Street and Cedar Avenue. Upon their arrival, officers discovered an unresponsive man with a gunshot injury in a vehicle on the 1700 block of Pacific Avenue. 

The Long Beach Fire Department (LBFD) responded and determined that the man, 23-year-old Ryan Davone Martin, was dead at the scene, according to the LBPD. 

The LBPD said a motive for the crime is unknown at this time and the investigation remains ongoing.
