Three people were arrested Wednesday afternoon after they entered into a dispute with a business employee, which resulted in the employee producing a shotgun, police said.

Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) officers responded to the business on the 2800 block of East Anaheim Street at about 1:30PM regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call, said LBPD spokeswoman Nancy Pratt.

Officers learned that three male suspects, two adults and one juvenile, entered the business and became involved in a dispute with the employees.

During the fight, one of the suspects struck an employee with an object found in the business. Police did not specify what the item was nor what type of business the incident took place in.

The employee then pulled out a firearm but did not fire any shots, and the suspects fled in a vehicle, Pratt said.

A vehicle description was aired over police radio, and a vehicle matching the suspect vehicle was seen in the area of Anaheim Street and Gardenia Avenue. A traffic stop was conducted to allow officers to arrest the suspects.

The three suspects were arrested and booked on various charges, Pratt said. She did not specify details on the charges.

The employee was not seriously injured and did not need to be transported to the hospital for treatment, Pratt said.

No other information was available, and the investigation is ongoing. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
