A shooting in Central Long Beach overnight left multiple vehicles damaged but no one was injured, authorities said.

Police responded to a shots fired call at 1:27 a.m. Sunday on the 1700 block of Locust Avenue, said Long Beach police spokeswoman Arantxa Chavarria.

“When officers arrived they located evidence of a shooting,” Chavarria said. “Strike marks were found on vehicles.”

Gang detectives responded to the location, which is a block north of PAAL Academy and a few blocks west from where a shooting two days ago left a person injured.

The motive or suspect(s) in the shooting are unknown, Chavarria said. The investigation remains ongoing.
