Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) police are searching for a man who they say assaulted a female student with a knife on Monday.

The victim told police that at about 2:20PM, while she was walking to her car in Parking Structure 1 on the 4th floor, a male subject brandished a knife, according to CSULB police.

The victim then tried to grab the knife and injured her hand in the process. The suspect then dropped the knife, picked it back up and ran southbound from the fourth level of Parking Structure 1.

The victim described the suspect to police as a white male in his 20s, medium build, approximately 5′ 8″ tall, wearing a clean blue baseball cap, glasses, a navy blue t-shirt, and blue jeans.

The victim left the area in her vehicle and went to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
