Charges were filed Wednesday against a Hawthorne man who was arrested for sexually assaulting a woman in Alamitos Beach last weekend.
A woman reported to the Long Beach Police Department (LBPD) on September 7 at about 5:00AM that an intruder entered her house through an open window in the area of Falcon Avenue and East Ocean Boulevard and sexually assaulted her, the LBPD said in a statement.
LBPD detectives located and arrested Detrick Paul Richmond, 28, of Hawthorne, at a residence in the City of Hawthorne on September 10 in connection with the assault.
LBPD Sexual Assault Investigation Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles District Attorney’s (LADA) office for filing consideration. The LADA filed 10 counts of sexual assault, assault with a deadly weapon and burglary related charges against Richmond.
Richmond is currently being held in Long Beach City Jail on $5M bail.
