Police rushed a 7-month-old boy to the hospital Thursday morning after a hit-and-run driver struck his stroller while the boy’s mother was crossing the street in North Long Beach, according to authorities.

Police, who described the boy as an infant, said his injuries weren’t life-threatening and he was in stable condition. The driver remains at large.

Security footage from a local business shows a white vehicle approaching the crosswalk across Long Beach Boulevard at 67th Street, where the mother and her child are preparing to cross. The vehicle hits the stroller, and the impact throws the stroller into the center divider.

A screenshot of security camera footage shared with the Post shows the incident from a distance.

The mother appears to rush over and pick up the infant as the vehicle continues northbound and quickly moves out of frame.

Police said the hit-and-run happened just before 11:30 a.m. when officers arrived, they rushed the injured boy to the hospital themselves. The boy’s mother was not injured.

The Long Beach Police Department is asking the public to assist in identifying the driver of the white Ford Explorer, a model from the early 1990s, according to police.

They also released a portion of the security camera footage.
