A Lakewood woman was charged today with injuring two men on Tuesday in a DUI hit-and-run crash, authorities announced.

Prosecutors say Charlette Colton, 50, crashed her minivan into a car on Del Amo Boulevard near Locust Avenue, crushing one victim’s leg and severely injuring a pedestrian, and then fled the scene.

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office charged Colton with one felony count each of driving under the influence of alcohol causing injury within 10 years of another DUI offense, driving with a .08% blood alcohol content causing injury within 10 years of another DUI offense and hit-and-run driving resulting in serious injury to another person.

Colton will also face special allegations that she inflicted great bodily injury, her blood alcohol concentration was .20% or more and was convicted of a DUI in 2012.

She is expected to be arraigned tomorrow at the Long Beach courthouse. If convicted as charged, Colton faces a possible maximum sentence of nine years in state prison, according to the District Attorney’s office. Her bail is set at $160,000.

The case remains under investigation by the Long Beach Police Department.
