Long Beach resident, 31-year-old Nadia Silva, was struck and killed by a motorist early Thursday morning while bicycling on the Huntington Beach stretch of the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), the Huntington Beach Police Department (HBPD) confirmed Friday.

According to the HBPD, officers were dispatched the scene of the collision at 4:40AM Thursday. Silva had been crossing the southbound lanes of the PCH when she was hit by a motorist heading south between Goldenwest and Seapoint streets, authorities said.

The Huntington Beach Fire Department (HBFD) arrived and transported her to Anaheim Global Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition and pronounced dead at 5:36AM.

“Speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision,” said HBPD Accident Investigator Robert Barr.

Officials say no citations or arrests have been made. The investigation is ongoing.
