A Long Beach man was charged today with kidnapping two teenage girls and sexually assaulting them while armed, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office announced.
The man, Samuel Alexander Vasquez, has been charged with two counts each of kidnapping to commit rape and forcible rape and one count each of forcible oral copulation and assault with a deadly weapon.
Vasquez allegedly kidnapped a 16-year-old girl at knifepoint as she was walking in the South Los Angeles area on September 27, later allegedly forcing a 14-year-old girl into his car on October 28. The 14-year-old had been walking in the same vicinity.
Prosecutors have asked that bail be set at $5.03 million. Vasquez is scheduled to be arraigned after 1:30PM today.
If convicted, he faces up to life in state prison.
